Dr. Shivakar Tiwari has been working as a Research Assistant in the Institute since 2015 on a contractual post. He did his postgraduation in economics from the Department of Economics, University of Lucknow. He received his M.Phil and Doctoral Degree in Economics from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
He has worked widely on the issues of Poverty Inequality and Labour Market in India. The title of his PhD Thesis was “Public Works and Rural Labour Market: Impact on Poverty and Inequality”. For his his M. Phil degree, he worked on Decomposition of Poverty Incidence into the Mean and Redistribution Effect in the Post Reform Period. In the institute he has assisted in different projects that includes Urban Labour Market in India, Construction of Backwardness Index for Districts of Uttarakhand, Rural Transformation in Uttar Pradesh etc. His areas of interest includes Development and labour Economics. His expertise lies in the econometric and quantitative research techniques. He has publishes eight articles in journals of national and international repute.
